Stratford Literary Festival – Poetry Competition

The details for the Stratford Festival’s poetry competition are now on the website.

The good news is, that it’s open to anyone, anywhere in the world, entry is FREE and the deadline is 18th March 2011, so you’ve got plenty of time!

The bad news is that the Festival will retain copyright of all the poems entered and they also reserve the right to publish any of the poems in the Festival brochure and you don’t even get a copy of the booklet if your poem’s in it (I checked with the organisers!) – you have to buy your own.

That’s a little bit naughty, I think, especially as you won’t be able to do anything else with that poem (eg: enter it for another competition), as it will count as ‘published’. But anyway, with that note of warning, if you’d still like to enter and you have a poem on the theme of ‘My Home’ that you’d like to submit, then have a look at the details here.
