Results of Writers Bureau Short Story Competition 2012

My delight at selling a story to Woman’s Weekly on Wednesday was tempered slightly today, when I had to get 2 new tyres for my car. Apart from a measly £20, I’ve just spent all my earnings on rubber!

The results of the Writers Bureau short story competition are out. If you’re interested in seeing what won, click below. It’s always interesting to see the kind of stories (and standard) that win these competitions.

Hazel Osmond’s story ‘How To Fall Off A Soap Box’ came third; Alison Wassell was second with ‘Playground Games‘ and….pause for fanfare… the winner was Glenn Mansfield with his story ‘Erosion‘ (great title), which also has the judge Iain Pattison’s report at the end.

It’s not the cheeriest of stories! But I can see why it won.

Well done to all the winners!

And have a great weekend everyone. We’re going out to a friend’s house for dinner, so I’d better go and get ready…eeek… late as usual…
