Happy Christmas!

happyholidaysYes, I know it’s Christmas Eve but I couldn’t let the festive season pass without wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!

I was one of those mad people who went to the shops yesterday AND today! Thank you to those organised folk (you may well be amongst them), who don’t venture out in the days before Christmas. You made my life much easier than expected, as it was pretty quiet out there. Hurrah!

In case you want to do a bit of writing over the Christmas holidays, I’ve been looking out for competitions closing soon.

If you’ve got the first 2000 words of a novel for children or young adults, then you might be interested in Leicester Writers’ competition, which closes on 31st December, costs £5 to enter (and you can enter on-line).

There’s a Flash Fiction competition here and the Writers Bureau poetry competition also closes on 31st December.

I’m just a few followers off ‘400’ so when that target’s reached, in the New Year, I’ll be running a competition with GREAT PRIZES!

Sooo, with that in mind, I’ll sign off and say ‘Happy Christmas’ – have fun – and see you on the other side…!

And a very merry Christmas and joyous New Year to you Helen! (Father Christmas) hats off to you for your dedication in sharing more useful info and cheerful news with us even on xmas eve…hope you’re having a fab festive time! 🙂

    • thanks Philippa. We were invited next door for drinks last week with our neighbour’s son and his family who’d come over from France, where they’ve lived for the past 10 years. They live near St.Etienne – don’t suppose that’s anywhere near you, is it, but it made me think of you!

Merry Christmas, Helen. Hope you are enjoying the holidays. Looks like Bonny has got into the festive spirit for her first Christmas. 🙂 x

    • Merry Christmas to you too, Tracy (a little belatedly!). Bonnie loved her first Christmas. She had a stocking, filled with toys and treats, which she ‘helped’ to open and after that, whenever anyone else tried to open a present, she wanted to help them too. Then there was the chewing of the wrapping paper and the fetching of the baubles from the lower branches of the Christmas tree and refusing to drop them… ah, it was fun!!
